Common Triacetate Fabrics
Triacetate is often blended with viscose rayon for ease of care.
Recommended Uses
Uses can be pleated skirts, blouses/shirts, lingerie, knit dresses, curtaining and upholstery.
Properties
Triacetate tends to wrinkle less than acetate, and is a little stronger.
It can absorb up to 8% of its weight before feeling wet, and is quicker to dry than acetate,
but feels clammy quicker if worn for prolonged periods when damp. It is recommended
that triacetate garments be loose fitting for this reason.
It is not as soft as acetate, and can be crispier.
Care
Separate colours and wash in cold to warm water, being careful not to pull or distort the
fabric excessively when wet.
Dry acetate flat in the shade, line dry, or put into a dryer on a medium temperature.
Use a warm iron with a press cloth on the reverse side of the fabric.
You can dryclean acetate, but avoid bleaching.
