Common Cupro Fabrics
Bemberg, Bemsilk (usually made into linings).
Recommended Uses
Linings, shirts/Blouses, skirts/pants/shorts, dresses, children's wear, knitwear, curtains and
household linen, fibre filling, medical dressings.
Properties
Cupro rayon is similar to viscose rayon, but the fibre is a lot finer and softer.
Care
Use a mild laundry powder, separate whites from colours, and wash in cold to medium heat
water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly, but do not wring.
To dry viscose rayon, you can: dry it flat in the shade, line dry, or put it in the dryer.
Iron with a medium to hot iron when damp, or use steam. Over-steaming will turn white
fabric yellow, or dull your colours (very hot water also does this).
Avoid bleaching viscose rayon. If the colour fades, it is because of the dye used and/or
laundering.
Storing viscose rayon in warm, humid conditions attracts mildew, but this can be removed
by laundering.
