Mandy Little (the Vice-President of the NHOS) recently had this article in the local newspaper (please excuse the rough presentation of the PDF page).

This was a great way to let everyone know what the NHOS does and how to be a part of it.  The society gained another member that day as a result of the article!  Well done to all!

The Meeting

The meeting was fantastic, and loads of fun! We listened to the latest news, met important members (past and present) of the society, and those who have contributed so much to the Ostomates cause over the years.

These wonderful people have done so much to help other Ostomates over the years, it was a lovely way to congratulate them for their heart, spirit and efforts.

The Introduction and Presentation

Malcolm Design had a stand at the side, where Ostomates could view our samples, photos and portfolio books.

We introduced ourselves to everyone and explained what we did and how we came about creating our specialist lingerie range for ostomates.

We talked to everyone about what our lingerie does.  We described how each underpant has a bag cover and that they are an everyday wearable option.  By by wearing fun and flirty "inside layer" like lingerie, it can help bring out that confidence and security.  This was especially important for new Ostomates (of any age), and also for those who simply want to feel better about themselves.

We talked about fabric and trim combinations, about the variety of options available and simply, how versatile the range is.

We also asked for recommendations and suggestions on how we can expand the range, and what they would like to see.  We recieved excellent responses, such as high-waisted trousers and shorts (expecially for the gentlemen) and day wear that had firm but breathable waistbands.

We will certainly be taking on those suggertions, so thank you everyone.  Just keep an eye on our website for those new range to come!

We received a fantastic response and encouragement to help seek out young Ostomates, who would most benefit from our products.  We would be more than happy to cooperate with any Ostomy Society who wishjed to encourage young Ostomates.

The Music and Singing

There was a drummer and keyboard player and they had excellent music, accompanied by a most excellent singer - someone from the NHOS!  She sang most beautifully and everyone joined in soon enough!  This was very entertaining and she made great song choices too!

The Food and Mingling

Everyone bought a plate of the most scrumptious food we have tasted in ages!  Thank you all those bakers!  There were muffins, scones, cakes, homemade cheese wafers, loaves, cheese and crackers - the whole shibang!  You had to be quick because the food went so very fast - everyone must have worked up a good appetite!
