Malcolm Design has searched for many years to find reliable and consistent team members who will support us and help us grow. We have now found our wonderful contractors, and have an incredible team of warm friendly people have become great friends. They are selected because of their expertise, the 'passion for the craft,' and their pursuit of perfection. Our contractors are also local to the North Shore (in Auckland), which helps us to support the local community.
Patternmaking involves putting putting 'you' on paper (as such) so that when the fabrics are cut out, they fit correctly. Sewing involves interpreting the patterns correctly and transforming it into a complete garment, finished and pressed.
You simply won't find inferior construction in any clothing bearing our name.
We are too proud of our label and what it stands for. It is afterall, a badge of excellence!

Kate - Our Patternmaker
Kate is a fantastic person, who loves children and is so incredibly friendly, down to earth and simply a pleasure to be with and always makes you laugh!
Our fantastic patternmaker is a genius! Very very experienced in her field, Kate produces consistent and accurate patterns and toiles. Always striving for the perfect fit, she has awesome attention to detail.
Ine - Our Seamstress and Patternmaker
Ine is a very easy going person who loves animals, including her pet chicken, lovingly call "Roast Chicken" (which it gets called when its naughty).
Ine is very experienced and has been sewing for well over 25 years, as does so with a passion! for perfection. Her experience also extends to patternmaking, and her attention to detail is second to none. She works efficiently and proactively offers suggestions to add that extra finishing touch to her work. By thinking outside the square, and simply being such an awesome person, she has fast become an invaluable member of the team.
Shyla - Our Seamstress and Patternmaker
Shyla is our youngest member of the team, but by no means lacking in excellence and experience. She is a very warm and friendly person who is very bright and always sparkles with enthusiasm.
Recently graduated, she has amazing natural talent, which is so rare, and really "sees" things as they are. She interprets designs and patterns very very well and transforms them into accurate and precise patterns and then on to the finished garment. Also thinking ouside the square, she always produces amazing finished to her garments, with strong constructions and a real eye for detail. She is always consistent and reliable and maintains the highest quality of workmanship.
Julie - Our Graphic Designer
Julie is the newest member of our team and has made a real impact, right from the start. We needed help creating and maintaing our new branding and image, which is where Julie came in. Julie is our graphic designer and has the unique ability to 'read our minds' when it comes to designing our advertising, signage and this incredible website of ours (we are very proud of it).
Our new look simply would'nt be the same without Julie's expert eye, know-how and flair for design. She knows exactly what we mean and just what we need, and comes up with results that far exceed our expectations. In a word... she is brilliant!
