Kirsten's Expertise

Kirsten is the Administrator (‘Commandant') of Malcolm Design Limited, and she deals with the accounts, advertising, administration and paperwork. She has very little sewing skills (such as her ability to sew on buttons and perform rudimentary hemming with safety pins and sellotape), but if it is not sewing, then she does most other tasks, including some of the garment design work.

Kirsten is highly talented in organizing things, designing our artwork and in generally managing the business affairs. She has completely redesigned, refreshed and organised Malcolm Design Limited's images, colour schemes, portfolios, client portfolios and documentation in the last two and a half years with amazing results! (Stacey can actually find things now, and her shoe-box filing system is now safely contained in wooden cupboards and a filing cabinet).

Education

Kirsten has a background in business and tourism. She gained her Bachelor of Business in 1998 (Majoring in Tourism) and has steadily worked as a Manager and Administrator in supporting Malcolm Design Limited.

History

Kirsten helped Stacey with the business on a part-time basis in the early (five or so) years, providing support (like cooking dinners and organizing things) and basic administration duties. The busier Malcolm Design got, the more she helped.

Before she realized it, she was putting in the same hours as Stacey (for about two and a half years now). Kirsten had established herself as a solid and indispensable part of the business. As the demand for our services grew, and the need for better systems grew with it, Kirsten set about creating and standardizing procedures and organizing everything to be fluid and streamlined. Today, Malcolm Design Limited is an organised business with an ever-expanding range of services and is available to a wide array of customers.

Other Talents

She also has time to do her craft (amazingly talented woman!!), and this business is called ‘Dipped in Craft' and deals with the zaniest art you can imagine! She has designed 3D photo frames, door knockers, jewellery holders, and so much more! There is no limit to her imagination! Her key inspiration is ‘look outside the square', (in this case, it could be a triangle!). Ask her all about it!
